Virginia Tech holds classes on five-year shooting anniversary
BLACKSBURG, Virginia (Reuters) – Five years after a mentally ill student gunned down 32 people at Virginia Tech, the university held classes on Monday for the first time on the anniversary of the country’s deadliest mass shooting and 10,000 mourners attended a nighttime vigil. School officials said resuming classroom instruction on the anniversary of the April 16, 2007, rampage was another way to honor the memory of the students and staff killed.
