Woman dies in Egypt of H5N1 bird flu, second death this year
CAIRO (Reuters) – A 65-year-old Egyptian woman has died from the H5N1 strain of bird flu, the health ministry said on Wednesday, the second victim of the virus this month. The World Health Organization (WHO) says there has been a recent jump in the number of H5N1 infections in people in Egypt, but says there does not appear to have been any major genetic change in the flu strain to explain the rise in human cases.
