Asperger’s Disorder to Be Eliminated in New DSM-5

The revisions to the upcoming fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) were approved by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) on Saturday, according to a letter posted online by the organization’s president. The revisions, some of which have incited both controversy and critique, are due to be published in the book’s new edition in May of 2013.
