Who Is Charged With Medical Decision-Making at the End of Life?

At the end of life, who is likely to make the final treatment decisions? That was the question from the University of Michigan Law School. Researchers sought to understand who is likely to be called upon when an individual becomes medically incompetent. To answer this question, they did a systematic review of previously published research. Their results were recently published in the Journal of the American Geriatric Society.
