Spitz Sunflower founder donates $1 million for alternative medicine research

CALGARY — The founder of Spitz Sunflower seeds has donated $1 million to establish a chair to study alternative medicine at the University of Lethbridge. Tom Droog named the fund the Emmy Droog Chair after his late wife, who died of cancer in 2010.
