Fujian has confirmed 15 cases since the start of 2015, Xinhua news agency reported. Another human infection was reported in the adjacent province of Jiangxi on Friday, Xinhua said, while both the municipality of Shanghai and neighbouring Zhejiang province have reported cases "this winter". Cases of the virus accelerated in China in 2014, with statistics compiled by health authorities in Beijing showing 310 cases were diagnosed on the mainland from January until December 10, including 132 deaths.

Taiwanese man dies after Internet gaming binge

Doctors confirmed he had suffered cardiac failure, ruling it a "sudden death" from prolonged computer gaming, the report said. The case came after a 38-year-old man was found dead at an Internet cafe in New Taipei City on January 1 following five days straight of video game binging.

Two die of H7N9 bird flu in China’s Fujian: Xinhua

Two people in China’s coastal Fujian province have died of H7N9 avian flu, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported, quoting local health officials. The province had 15 confirmed cases of the strain so far this year, while Jiangxi and Zhejiang provinces and Shanghai had also reported human cases of H7N9 this winter, Xinhua said. China has had a problem with bird flu for several years, and new infections tend to crop up in the winter months. H7N9 first infected three people in China in March 2013.
