UnitedHealth fourth-quarter revenue rises as costs kept in check
(Reuters) – UnitedHealth Group Inc , the largest U.S. health insurer, said on Thursday it kept fourth-quarter costs under control and increased revenue by more than 11 percent, helping earnings per share to rise. The company, which provides health care benefits through both employer and government-paid insurance plans and serves individuals and military members, also backed its forecast for 2013 revenue growth of at least 11 percent and said earnings would be in a range of slightly down to up 4 percent. …
As "Roe v. Wade" turns 40, most oppose reversing abortion ruling
(Reuters) – Most Americans remain opposed to overturning the controversial Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, which 40 years ago legalized abortion at least in the first three months of pregnancy, according to a poll released Wednesday. The poll by the Pew Research Center found that 63 percent of Americans believe that Roe v. Wade should not be completely overturned, compared to 29 percent who believe it should be. These opinions have changed little from surveys conducted in 2003 and 1992, Pew reported. …
